Jumpstart for Young Children will be hosting a Reading and Craft area at Pacoima Library every 1st and 2nd Saturday of April, May and June!
We need volunteers passionate about early literacy, to help read and make crafts with children and families. All ages are welcome to volunteer!
These events will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, on the following dates:
Saturday, April 1st
Saturday, April 8th
Saturday, May 6th
Saturday, May 13th
Saturday, June 3rd
Saturday, June 10th

Description
Each year, one third of America's children arrive on their first day of school without the skills necessary to succeed at grade level. When children begin behind their peers, catching up, especially without additional assistance, is difficult and unlikely. By focusing on enriching the education of preschool students from disadvantaged communities, Jumpstart is making sure every child has a chance at success. Jumpstart is a national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring children to learn, adults to teach, families to get involved, and communities to progress together.
