ORGANIZATION: TEAM WETHRIVE INC

WeThrive is an entrepreneurial mentoring program that pairs college students with middle school students in underresourced communities. Youth participants will start their own business but most importantly learn life skills. Currently, we are looking for students who are passionate about social change to mentor youths at a school nearby.

By creating a supportive environment that encourages relationship building, learning, planning, and financial achievement, WeThrive instills the drive and motivation needed to set ambitious personal and economic goals. Through programming designed to build skills, confidence, and support networks, participants are also provided with the ability to make decisions and take actions aimed at achieving those goals.

Description

WeThrive is a program in which undergraduate university students lead youth from under- resourced communities in the creation of a business venture, mentoring them and teaching them critical life skills along the way. In this year-long program, youth participants create their own ventures from start to finish, earning revenues, and donating all profits to charity. Most importantly, they learn essential life skills and adopt habits that will allow them to achieve their personal goals and definitions of success.

  • Twice a week for one hour
