We are looking for volunteers to travel to different events and promote street safety and our upcoming Finish The Ride and Finish The Run event. Contact us for details!

When you volunteer to make Finish The Ride and Finish The Run Santa Clarita a success, you are rewarded in so many ways. As you know, your help is so important to advancing our mission of improving the quality of life for pedestrians, bicyclists, and drivers alike by working to reduce traffic caused fatalities to zero. Before the event, we have volunteer opportunities that include going to other running and cycling events and passing out flyers. Other pre-production opportunities include marking the route, assisting pre-registration packet pickup, loading the van, and other setup responsibilities.

The event supports Streets Are For Everyone (SAFE), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all road users.

Mission Statement

Streets Are For Everyone (SAFE) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in January 2014. Streets Are For Everyone (SAFE) aims to improve the quality of life for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers alike by working to reduce traffic caused fatalities to Zero. SAFE addresses the problem in a holistic fashion through direct education, broad awareness campaigns, partnerships, community outreach, policy and legislation, support for those impacted and other proven strategies.

Dedicated SAFE staff and volunteers with a combined 75 years of experience in the non-profit sector have, in the short time since establishment, changed the face of traffic safety.

  1. Almost 100 million people reached through mass media and social media with the message that hit and run crimes are no longer acceptable.
  2. The first ever hit and run alert system implemented in Los Angeles.
  3. The first ever standing rewards program in L.A. to catch hit and run criminals.
  4. The first state law specifically addressing hit and run crimes, Damian’s Law.
  5. The first ever billboards in L.A. specifically addressing hit and run crimes.

Most importantly, per LAPD statistics, hit and run crimes have dropped by 16% in the last year.

In recognition of their work, SAFE has been honored with the Alex Baum Award by LA County Bicycle Coalition, the Deborah Murphy Award for Excellence in Advocacy by Streetsblog LA as well as commendations and recognition from US congressmen, CA State Assemblyman and LA City Councilmen.
