About
WITS Summer Early Childhood is a kindergarten readiness program that takes place from 9:00am-11:30am, Monday-Thursday, from July 9-August 9.
The program, led by a CPS teacher and a WITS staff member, prepares incoming kindergarteners for school by teaching letter names and letter sounds, developmental writing skills, and reading behaviors. Each week, the staff uses a different fairy tale as a fun way to practice these skills and engage with stories.
Volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of one day per week but are welcome to volunteer as many days as they would like.
