HELP for KIDS, an Exchange Club Parenting Skill Center, focuses on crisis intervention in the effort to break the cycle of child abuse while preserving the family unit. Our mission is to stop or prevent the cycle of child abuse or neglect in families by modeling nurturing parenting practices. The Center is AAA accredited nationally by the National Exchange Club Foundation for highest achievement and best practices.

Since its founding, The Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center has helped over 10,000 children and their families, and case studies show a greater than 85% success rate among families served"

Volunteer Office Assistant: Job Description and Duties

  • Manage day to day administrative duties at the Exchange Club office such as greeting visitors and community constituents, answering the phone, filing and maintaining records, organize office systems, writing memos, etc.
  • Support the Board of Directors, Center Director and Volunteer Coordinator with daily clerical functions
  • Help coordinate administrative details with Director and the Board of Directors on fund raising activities, mailings, newsletters, community outreach events and other special projects
  • Assist with pre and post event communications and donor thank you letters and other communications as needed

Time Commitment

  • Flexible, 8 or more hours a week
  • Most of the work will be at HELP for KIDS' center, located in Stamford. Some work may be done remotely

Skills:

  • Experience with secretarial or administrative duties, organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Computer skills, some level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, e-mail and internet searches
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Project management skills
