If you're a leader, planner, multi-takser and able to make adjustments on the fly all while keeping a positive attitude then this is a great opportunity for you!
Each month, we provide veterans homes in need with 50 lbs of food per household. Multiply that by 200 homes, and your skills are needed!
We have a location, timeframe, and volunteers. What we seek is someone who is willing to oversee each month's food distribution to ensure the process runs smoothly and is a success.
This is a great opportunity to showcase your leadeship skills. Working along side the Volunteer Coordinator you will oversee all aspects of the implentation of the actual event process.
Time commitments vary per week, as the event gets closer more time will be dedicated to insure proper implementation. Typically the food distribution coordinator can expect to do 5-15 hours each week.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Placing the food order with the Lowcountry Food Bank
Verifying that the food truck can arrive on time on the date of the event
Ensuring the location remains available for day of the event
Checking and maintaining numbers for veterans through our online database
Working with VA Rep to ensure there are enough supplies for the upcoming event, such as bags, gloves, safety vests, tables, cones etc...
Training will be provided. Our team is waiting for you so come on board and let's keep veterans fed!!
