Are you interested in preserving history?
The Brown County Historical Society and Hazelwood Historic House is looking to expand on its Volunteer Base.
We are looking for more volunteers in a variety of areas!
Volunteers can:
Be a Docent/Guide at Hazelwood. As a Docent/Guide, volunteers would lead visitors on a journey back to the 19th century, telling the story of the Martin Family and how their contributions which impacted the development of Green Bay and Wisconsin.
In addition, we always need volunteers to help us with school tours and special events! For example, we are looking for volunteers to help portray historical figures in our annual Cemetery Walks at Fort Howard Memorial Park, Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Woodlawn Cemetery!
Not a public speaker? If you work better behind the scenes, we have several opportunities as well.
Volunteers can:
Research and write. We are always looking for interesting articles related to Brown County History to put into the Society newsletter, The Historical Bulletin. In addition, we always need volunteers to research historical characters for our Cemetery Walks.
Mailings. Volunteers would help us mail information about Hazelwood and Voyageur Magazine to our members.
Prefer to work with your hands? We are always in need of volunteers to help us maintain Hazelwood's interior and exterior by cleaning, painting, gardening and general maintenance.
If you are interested in being a volunteer starting in 2017, please email bchsvolunteer@netnet.net for more information!
