The JDRF Greater Iowa Chapter is in need of awesome volunteers for the 2017 One Walk on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Our goal this year is to raise $1 million, and we need your help to reach this goal, and hope that you will volunteer your time and talent to this event. We will have over 6,000 participants come out on Walk day to celebrate their fundraising success and show support for the millions living with type one diabetes.

Mission Statement
JDRF is the leading global organization funding type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s goal is to progressively remove the impact of T1D from people’s lives until we achieve a world without T1D. JDRF collaborates with a wide spectrum of partners and is the only organization with the scientific resources, policy influence, and a working plan to better treat, prevent, and eventually cure T1D.
Description
The JDRF Greater Iowa Chapter was established by a group of dedicated volunteers in 1984. Our chapter contributes over $2.1 million annually to diabetes research. Each year we strive to increase that figure and move closer to a cure for type 1 diabetes. In addition to raising money for research, our professional staff, board and volunteers also provide support and education to the community regarding diabetes and its complications.
