Throughout the year, San Francisco Opera goes "beyond the stage" to introduce opera to students in schools across the Bay Area. You can help young students in the Arts Resources in Action (ARIA) program develop their very own mini-operas. Students write a libretto and music, design and create costumes, sets and props, then perform their mini-opera for the school community. We are looking for volunteers to join us in the classroom when it comes time for students to design/build their sets and props. You can participate in just one visit, or multiple. Please join San Francisco Opera Teaching and Production Artists in public schools as we work to give every child a voice through opera.
These visits are occurring April 5th through 24th, from Monday to Friday; most are a full school day and will require you to be on-site from 8am to 3:30pm. They will take place at schools located in San Francisco, San Pablo, Daly City, Oakland, Richmond, and San Leandro.
For a detailed schedule, please contact Emily Spitz at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (415) 565-3274.
