Calvary Women’s Services offers housing, health, employment and education programs that empower homeless women in Washington, DC to change their lives. Our programs carry out our mission to offer "a safe, caring place for tonight; support, hope and change for tomorrow." Step Up DC, Calvary’s job placement program, connects eligible candidates in Calvary’s transitional and permanent housing programs to employers in the community, empowering women to take the first steps in their journey towards financial independence and permanent housing. The Step Up DC Job Fair Transportation Lead accompanies clients to local job fairs to encourage them during (what can be) a stressful situation. Volunteers will meet the clients on site, talk through strategy and then accompany the clients (either by public transit or Uber/Lyft) to the job fair. Step Up DC Job Fair Transportation Lead volunteers are expected to make a strong and ongoing commitment to join clients for four job fairs in a year.

The Job Fair Transportation Lead should possess an excitement about empowering clients in their job search and have a knowledge of hiring best practices and making a good first impression in the job market.
