Come join us for a day of habitat restoration in the woodlands of Inlow Park. Garlic Mustard is the main invasive species threat at Inlow, it can be found throughout most of the wooded areas of the park. Sites invaded by garlic mustard tend to have low diversity of plants and often native plants are displaced. The most effective treatment for removal is the act of pulling the entire plant and root system from the ground by hand, and carefully bagging it so as not to spread the seeds. Garlic Mustard pulls are a great stewardship project for volunteers of all ages! Multiple dates will be scheduled over the spring months for the removal of Garlic Mustard.
Volunteers can sign up for this opportunity by going to http://carmelclayparks.com/volunteer/ and looking under volunteer opportunities and park stewardship. Once you create a volunteer profile you can register for the opportunity.
