Families to Freedom needs a board treasurer who is willing and able to provide leadership in the financial life of the organization. Through your financial knowledge, communications, program budget assistance, and strategic planning we can grow to serve an increasing demand for transportation.

Our mission is to transport victims of domestic abuse to safety.

This is an elected position subject to interview and approval by the Board of Directors for a two-year term, or until a successor is elected and qualified, or re-elected for one additional consecutive two-year term.

In this role, you would

• Manage the Board’s financial responsibilities;
• Keep regular books of account;
• Work with the Executive Director and bookkeeper to ensure that appropriate financial reports are made available to the Board on a timely basis;
• Assist the Executive Director in preparing the annual budget, and presenting the budget to the Board for approval;
• Create and chair a Finance Committee to discuss tangible goals towards sustainability, develop Fiscal Policies for financial integrity, and cultivate long-term financial strategies;
• Attend Board meetings;
• Render to the Board of Directors an account of the financial condition;
• Assist with IRS tax reporting; and
• Perform all other duties required of a Treasurer by the Board of Directors

Requirements:

1. Personal commitment to devote the time necessary to perform the responsibilities of Treasurer.
2. Understanding of financial accounting for corporations and/or nonprofit organizations.
3. Reside in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex area
4. Pass background check
