The United Way of Pinal County (UWPC) recently received funding from corporate sponsors and private donors to paint the exterior of senior resident homes. In collaboration with Pinal-Gila Council for Seniors(PGCSC) and Community Action Human Resources Agency (CAHRA), a total of eight homes located in Apache Junction, Arizona City, Casa Grande and Coolidge have been selected to participate in this program.
The UWPC is seeking volunteer project team leaders, and 10-15 volunteers per site to paint the exterior of homes for senior homeowners with limited financial resources. Team leaders are asked to manage event volunteers and to ensure the home is prepped for paint the day prior. Volunteers are invited to bring their skills and enthusiasm to work from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on April 8th, April 15th, April 29th, and May 6th.
UWPC will provide all the paint and plenty of rollers, brushes and other supplies for teams size of 15. Teams MUST provide their own ladders, and may choose to bring paint sprayers and more brushes. Team leaders are expected to coordinate a pre-paint prep day, lead the day of the event activities for their team and verify the home is completed and meets quality standards, and the work site is clean.
