Our senior center has over 1000 members that are seniors. We have a phone program to check on members that have not been to the center in 2 months. They might be ill, busy, caregiving, etc. We call to check on them and depending on the situation, we will refer them to receive assistance through many of the programs supported by Rales jewish Family Services. The Weisman Senior Center is a division of Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services and is nondenominational.
Our members are very appreciative of our calls and it enables us to further assist many in our community that might need a Caregiver or Bereavement Support Group, Transportation, Meals on Wheels, counseling services, home care or any other services provided by JFS or other organizations.
The calls would take place in the mornings or later afternoons, Monday through Friday. It can be a weekly commitment for 2 hours, but there is flexibility. All calls are logged manually into our call log form.
If providing a kind voice, helping your neighbors, and letting people know you care is important in your volunteer role, then please contact us today. You will meet with the Volunteer Director, receive a level 2 background screening and be trained for the program.

Description
JFS seeks to provide a helping hand to all in South Palm Beach County regardless of age, culture, religion, ethnicity, race or sexual orientation. Families in crisis, frail seniors in need of assistance in the home, adults dealing with life cycle challenges, schools seeking to educate students about substance abuse and other issues, and institutions and businesses looking for educational partnerships all rely on JFS for support and clinical expertise.
