You and three other theater team leads will run each theater with their own crew of a couple shift volunteers. Instruct your team where to be when, so delegation and organization is key. The Theater Ops teams assists with ushering, seating guests, and balloting after the film lets out. So there is an ebb and flow while the films run.
The festival dates at AMC La Jolla start with opening night on Wed, Oct 16th and runs through Sun, Oct 20th. Wednesday night you can assist at MOPA to get familiar with what to expect if you’d like. Then you and three other Theater Leads will lead the teams on Thursday - Sunday. Weekdays start out a bit slow and then busier in the evenings.
We will be back to holding monthly film screenings starting May - August this year at AMC UTC, typically on the third Wednesday in the evening. These would also be an excellent way to get comfortable with the team and theater.
It’s a great team to be involved with as it speaks to the heart of the festival. And definitely a fun way to spend a three-day weekend.

Description
Binge Watching for Film Lovers! The San Diego Film Festival is rapidly developing a reputation for premiering blockbuster films right here in San Diego. In 2012 we saw Silver Linings Playbook, Beasts of the Southern Wild and Quartet here long before they became box office hits. In 2013, we premiered 12 Years a Slave, The German, and August: Osage County. And last year it was The Imitation Game and Whiplash, which were honored with four Oscar wins and 11 nominations, plus Wild, Mr. Turner, St. Vincent, The Good Lie, We are looking for hundreds of talented, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to plan, promote, and produce events and support our guests year-round and during the Festival (October 4-October 8).
