Teachers' Supply Closet is in need of a retired librarian, teacher, or any person who can easily help organize books by grade level and separate fiction and non-fiction. Individuals should possess a love of books and have insight or experience in arranging books by student reading level and by subject matter. Our Library Expert will train all volunteers. Training will take place Monday - Wednesday mornings (you choose which days are best for you) at Teachers' Supply Closet. Once trained, you may choose which days/hours work best for your schedule for volunteering. Being available to help on free teacher shopping afternoons (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 - 6:30 beginning in early September of 2018) is a MUST for this volunteer opportunity. Teachers "shop" through our books for their classrooms and we need to be able to offer each teacher the very best books for their area of teaching! Opportunities are not available on weekends.

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to serve children in the tri-county area in metting their educational and creative needs by providing free supplies donated by businesses and individuals.
Description
Teachers’ Supply Closet (TSC) provided 25,725 children from low-income families with free school supplies in 2015. This helps students succeed in school and eliminates the need for teachers to pay for the products. School supplies include Composition Notebooks (regular and primary rule), Copy Paper, Crayons (24 pack), Folders, Glue Sticks, Washable Markers, Hygiene Products (Tissues and Hand Sanitizer), No. 2 Pencils, Pink Erasers, and Scissors. Donations come from local product drives, and, because TSC is an affiliate of the national Kids In Need Foundation, other items arrive via transport truck. TSC pays for the shipping and uses volunteers to unload the trucks and display the supplies in its 2,850 square foot "store", in which teachers "shop" for free.
