We are looking for a Volunteer Social Media Coordinator(s). The role will involve creating compelling and dynamic content that will build and sustain awareness about the mission and programs of our organization using key social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, You Tube and blogs, and responding to conversations across those channels.
This is a great opportunity to develop as social media coordinator as well as to gain experience working for an international development charity and to be exposed to all aspects of charity work.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an interest in charity work, passion for development and strong written and oral communication skills. Previous voluntary experience in any capacity and sector is strongly desirable. Experience in a similar role is essential but if you have worked in a different sector/capacity with strong transferable skills and you think this is a position for you, we would love to hear from you.
Duties will include but will not be limited to:
- Preparing a social media strategy - Assisting with preparing campaigns - Updating Facebook and Twitter pages - Assisting with expanding our supporter database
Average of 10 hours per week, spread over Monday - Sunday. Hours are flexible; productivity and results are more important than the number of hours worked.
We offer a lot of independence, exposure to all aspects of working for a charity and a fantastic team leader.
Please include a covering letter detailing your experience and what skills you can bring to the charity. Most importantly, you will be helping the organization work towards its mission.
We are currently seeking both temporary and long-term assistance and the role is flexible i.e. virtual/home based.
Please NOTE that this chance comes with a future opportunity to volunteer with us on the ground WITHOUT any fee, with food and accomondation covered.
