Summer Cohort Leader
ORGANIZATION: PASSPORT OREGON
Please visit the new page to apply.
Passport Oregon works with communities and schools to identify students and families who lack avenues or opportunities to get out into nature by creating a cohort of students to take on trips around Oregon. Starting in the summer of 2017 we are partnering with the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization by taking around 30 of their young explorers to places like the Oregon Coast, Columbia River Gorge, Mt. Hood, Silver Falls, and more. We need a couple cohort leaders to help lead our volunteers (or adventure buddies) and young explorers on each trip. Cohort leaders work with the organization to communicate with the parents and families of the students; work to plan the informational parent night; work with the volunteer coordinator on scheduling volunteers to each trip, making sure all are background checked, and assigning trip tasks (picking up lunch, leading activities, trip photographer/videographer, etc.); working with trip coordinators on all trip details as in the itinerary, schedule, and where to get lunch; and ultimately have fun exploring with our students! Trips happen every other Saturday and can fluctuate between 8am to 5pm.
