The "I Have a Dream" Foundation of Boulder County is looking for qualified individuals to come join our team! In your role you will be tutoring amazing 3 rd grade Dreamers during our after school program at Thunder Valley K-8 in Frederick. Additionally as a literacy tutor you will be working either one on one with students or in small groups, helping them to become masters in the process. We are looking to fill this position ASAP!
This is a great opportunity for college and high school students as well as retired teachers looking to give back to the community while making a bit of money doing so!
Previous tutoring experience is required.
Pay: up to $15/hr DOE

Once the application is received, a member of the Volunteer Department will reach out to you to schedule a volunteer interview.
Program Commitment: We are looking for someone who can come tutor between two and three times each week with the exception of Friday.
Time: Between 2-3 days each week (with the exception of Friday) between 3:45 p.m. and 5:20 p.m.
Responsibilities:Work with students one on one or in small groups on their literacy skills.
Ideal Tutor: Someone who has experience working with youth and is flexible, energetic, patient, and thrives in a hands-on environment that can be characterized as having a "buzz of productivity." Experience teaching or tutoring literacy is required. Understanding literacy assessments is preferred. Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.

Description
Since 1990, IHDF Boulder County has served more than 1,000 local youth, and currently has 12 active Dreamer Scholar Classes. The model, with its one-on-one attention and daily programming, has proven to narrow the opportunity gap. Dreamer Scholars graduate from high school, enroll in post-secondary programming, and complete their post-secondary education at much higher rates than their low-income peers.
