Malashock Dance is seeking new people to join its Board of Directors. The mission of Malashock Dance is to promote dance as an avenue for personal expression through participation, education, and artistic collaboration. Now in its 29th Season of professiona concert dance, this non-profit organization reaches over 4,000 students through outreach programs, and provides a full schedule of classes and workshops at its School in Liberty Station.
Malashock Dance does not require any previous experience in dance, and values diversity on its Board. Some areas of interest are professionals who bring experience and resources in the following areas:
- IT
- Advertizing
- Website and graphic design
- Development and Fundraising
- Social Media and Communications
- Education
- Dance
- Grants and sponsorships
- Experience in participating or leading other Boards

Description
Malashock Dance advances the art and experience of dance by creating original works that communicate, challenge, entertain, and encourage new forms of personal expression. Currently in our 27th Season, Malashock Dance is an active contributor to the vibrancy of San Diego’s cultural life, serving residents of the San Diego region, visitors in search of cultural activities, and the dance community as a whole. Founded by John Malashock in 1988 following his extensive career in dance and theater, the Company performs in various San Diego venues and events and tours nationally and internationally.
Malashock Dance opened its school in 2007, greatly expanding its connection to the community through a full spectrum of educational offerings. The Malashock Dance School provides a comprehensive array of modern dance classes, workshops, master classes, and education outreach activities for children, teens, adults, and professional dancers.
