About

Are you willing to go to the southern Pacific coast of Nicaragua? Then read on!

Are you an adventurer who wants to do good? Do you want to spend time at an off-the-beaten-track, tranquil, beachside community for little money? Do you want to empower women and girls and kids around the world?

This is a great opportunity for college-age students taking a gap year or a retiree looking for warm weather. Or anyone who just wants to enjoy a stunning, peaceful, exotic destination and do good at the same time.

Paso Pacifico, a conservation organization dedicated to preserving the forests and wildlife just north of the border from Costa Rica is developing eco-tourism by creating small businesses. It's called Project Ellas.

These phenomenal women - plus some men and children - can be guides, operate small hostels with a few rooms with private baths, run restaurants, lead horse-back riding or boat trips.

But they need to learn English.

So, Paso Pacifico is looking for folks willing to spend a few weeks at Ostional, Rivas, Nicaragua, volunteering to teach English and help them develop inexpensive, magical tourism opportunities for the whole family. No experience necessary, just a willingness to talk English!

There are expenses - but reasonable - count on $50 a day or less, plus your airfare.

We'll tell you more! Ostional is just north of the Costa Rica border, and about 20 miles south of the Nicaraguan Pacific cruise port of San Juan del Sur.
