ORGANIZATION: The First Tee of the Golden Isles

We are looking for motivated individuals to be "golf mentors" helping create a positive and fun atmosphere through golf to juniors ages 5 to 18. We do have a volunteer application that all golf mentors must go through. Below is a variety of options that we need assistance with year round.

  • At Golf Courses: Individuals assist in the implementation of a character based golf program at local golf facilities.
  • At other Youth Organizations: Individuals implement a golf specific program to other youth serving organizations, like The Boys & Girls Clubs during spring and fall seasons.
  • At Elementary Schools: Individuals assist P.E. Teachers and implement a golf specific program complete with character education.

Description

The First Tee is a youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people. Through after-school and in-school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf. And it’s making a difference. To date, the organization has impacted over 7,000 local youth in Glynn and Camden Counties and is continuously expanding. In order to keep our focus on quality over quantity; we rely heavily on motivated community members to volunteer their time and be a mentor for a couple hours, one day a week.
