You can be the difference in the life of a local youth by becoming a school-based mentor!
Partners Mentoring Youth is seeking volunteers to become positive role models to youth facing challenges in their personal, social, and academic lives. The need is high--we currently have over 100 youth waiting for a mentor.
Our program creates intentional one-to-one matches between volunteers and local youth in the school setting. We support these partnerships as they find activities to do together, build trust in their relationship, and set and accomplish goals together.
Mentoring is a well-documented and effective strategy in positive youth development. After a year in our program, our youth show a(an):
- Increase in academic achieve
- Increase in self-esteem and self-confidence
- Less delinquent behavior and drug use
- Stronger bonds with adults other than their parents
- Increase in ability to plan for the future

Mission Statement
Our mission is to empower youth and community members to achieve their full potential through mentoring, prevention education, and strategic partnership.
Description
We are the most comprehensive one-to-one youth mentoring program in Northern Colorado, exceptional at matching and supporting mentoring relationships with positive volunteer mentors and youth who need extra support.
Mentoring is a well-documented prevention strategy for positive youth development. Consistent with national research behind mentoring, we know that our mentoring programs work. Our evaluation results show that after just one year in our mentoring program, our youth have:
- Greater sense of hope
- Increased self-esteem
- Increased academic achievement
- Less delinquent behavior and substance use
Our youth, boys and girls ages 7-17, are referred by professionals in the community (school counselors, therapists, etc.) because they are experiencing circumstances that put them at risk of not reaching their full potential in life (poverty, abuse, mental health issues, family instability, etc.) They are great kids with a great potential to succeed, but need a little extra support.
We always need more mentors for our youth--we typically have 60-100 kids on our waitlist, eager to get matched with a mentor. Please consider BEING the difference in the life of a local youth.
