General Responsibilities

The primary goal of the database intern is to assist in the collection and organization of Tree House Books growing contact information for volunteers, donors, employees, and community members as well as support Tree House Books staff in growing marketing and social media efforts by tracking and analyzing our online presence and reach.


Database Interns are accountable to the Director of Outreach, Communication, & Development.

Specific Duties
Database Interns have the following responsibilities :

  • Collect and organize contact information from a variety of sources and compile into a spreadsheet

  • Organize and analyze data

  • Streamline and standardize data for easy sorting

  • Transport data into Little Green Light

  • Create and standardize procedure and train staff/volunteers. Desired Qualifications

  • High standard of computer literacy (excel, word, powerpoint, google, internet, etc.)

  • Experience with Little Green Light, Squarespace, Quickbooks, and Mailchimp preferred, but not required

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision, in order to meet deadlines

  • Excellent communication skills required to build relationships with potential donors, volunteers, the media, etc.

  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work well under pressure

  • A commitment to literacy and education

    Time Commitment

  • The average amount of time expected in this position is 10-15+ hours a week.
