The Texas Health and Human Services Commission helps low-income families with basic food, financial, medical and nursing home assistance.
Volunteers are needed to help with such tasks as: handle and process mail, complete reports, agency and community referrals for clients, collate forms, copy and fax documents, switchboard/phone duties, assist with the completion of imaging forms and interpreting services.
This placement offers an excellent opportunity to obtain office experience.

Description
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission offers a learning opportunity in the Eligibility Services Program. This program helps to provide low-income families with basic food, financial and medical assistance through the following programs: SNAP, (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, (TANF) and Medicaid. Tasks available are varied and placement is based upon the volunteer's interest, capability and the availability of openings. This placement offers valuable insight into social services and the relationships between federal, state, community and individual needs.
