Job Description

The City of Avondale is seeking positive and enthusiastic library volunteers!

Essential Functions

Library Volunteers have a number of responsibilities including maintaining the appearance of stacks, straightening and cleaning, unpacking or packing materials for sale or rental, checking book drops, shelving materials in all areas of the library, sorting and preparing books, answering questions from the public and communicating with staff to provide excellent customer service. Volunteers may also assist with or lead programming as needed.

Job Requirements

At least 16 years old, positive and enthusiastic attitude and an interest in library activities. Hours vary for the volunteers.

Description

We supplement Library, Parks, and Recreation funding to help provide and promote services that tax dollars may not reach. We do a variety of fundraisers and activities throughout the year and offer plenty of volunteering opportunities for our new members. We know how important libraries and recreation are to the community and want to make sure that they are always able to provide wonderful resources to local citizens.
