PLACEMENT PURPOSE
To provide shelter, safety, comfort and support for residents evacuated due to disasters.

OPEN TIME DAYS
Local Operations typically last 3-5 days with 2 or 3 shifts each day. Volunteers would be assigned to a shift for the 3-5 day period.

REQUIRED TRAINING

Basic Shelter Training⦆(Boot Camp)

  • Disaster Services Overview
  • Shelter Fundamentals
  • Serving People with Functional and Access Needs in a Shelter (FANS)
  • Basic Food Safety
  • Safe & Well Linking Overview
