On Earth Day, we will be planting perennial edibles and pollinators in our newly created hugelkultur beds and in the new planter created along the south side of the greenhouse. We will also adding soil to our annual raised beds and planters, weeding and mulching various areas of the site with wood chips, and attacking invasive plants, such as scotch broom and Himalayan blackberries.
Don't know what hugelkultur beds are? Well, come and see!
We will have coffee, juice, water and donuts for the morning and we will break for lunch at around 12:30 for lunch (probably pizza). Please bring a water bottle and some work gloves, if you have them. Wear sturdy clothes and shoes, and a hat for the sun (I'm a dreamer!) and dress for the weather.
We look forward to working the earth with you on Earth Day!
