Special Olympics swim coaches are needed to help assist at practices which take place every Saturday from 11:45am-2pm at the Santa Barbara YMCA on Hitchock Way. Prior coaching experience is not required--we will teach you! Interested volunteers can contact Donna Reeves at dreeves@sosc.org or 805.884.1516 x 102 for more information!

The mission of Special Olympics is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with an intellectual disability, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Description
The Santa Barbara Special Olympics is a non-profit organization that allows people with developmental disabilites within the Santa Barbara community to participate in year-round athletic competition. We offer several sports that our athletes can participate in free of charge.
