we Citizen Scientists need to chronicle the natural world in this place we call 'home'

Join Libi Kavanah and Our City Forest in this important work. together we make a difference for positive change in this world.

We are Naturally Curious!!
Together we share our curiosity and experience seeing our natural world in new ways!
We'll explore the practice of nature journaling through the combined lens of artists, scientists, musicians, writers, multicultural visions and naturalists!

We will join the many Citizen Scientists who record the wonders of Nature throughout the world for all to share in!

Come and Share our amazing Natural World with other Nature lovers. No Experience needed but always appreciated!!

Please Bring

A pencil or pen and/or colored pencils
A journal or scratch paper and something hard to draw on (like a clipboard)
Reusable water bottle
Close-toed shoes, sun or rain protection
Magnifying glass or binoculars, ruler, if you have them for close observations.

Don't have any of this?
No worries we will provide art materials and paper.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to cultivate a green and healthy Silicon Valley by engaging community members in the appreciation, protection, growth and maintenance of our urban ecosystem, especially our urban forest.

Description

The ultimate goal of the program is to facilitate the planting of one million trees in Silicon Valley, utilizing one million people. We have planted over 70,000 trees in San Jose, encouraging community members to join us in improving the environmental conditions of their communities. We focus on making a healthy urban forest accessible to all by offering services targeted towards disadvantaged communities because we believe a healthy environment should be available to all people, not just those who have the resources to access it.
