Description:Greets neighbors and applicants, checks identification of visitors and signs visitors in and out, directs visitors to appropriate staff, serves as a friendly face of Cedar Grove, interacts with Cedar Grove neighbors in a positive and friendly way leading to greater sense of community
Purpose: The position of Front Desk Ambassador serves as the face and voice of Virginia Beach CDC, greeting residents of Cedar Grove apartments , and providing information and resources about upcoming events and activities. This volunteer will also greet and interact with visitors of the the Cedar Grove satellite office or guests visiting the apartment community residents.
Location: The Front Desk Ambassador works on the first floor reception area in the organization’s satellite office located at 904 Broadmeadows Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA 23462
Time Commitment: 1-2 days a week for a 3 hour period (9am-12pm on any day Monday-Thursday, or 2pm-5pm on Friday) for a minimum of 3 months.
Qualifications: We are looking for someone with a pleasant manner, dependability, patience and a desire to learn and help the community.
Support: Training for this position will be provided as needed, and a VBCDC staff member will also be on site to answer questions as needed.
Dress Code: Business Casual

VBCDC is an award-winning 501(c)3 non-profit housing development corporation operating in the City of Virginia Beach. VBCDC is committed to developing quality affordable rental opportunities, providing comprehensive support services to its tenants, and providing comprehensive housing counseling services to families and individuals in need. VBCDC currently owns and manages over 410 units of affordable rental housing located throughout the City of Virginia Beach that serve low-to-moderate income families, individuals, elderly persons, veterans, homeless persons, and persons with disabilities.
