HABITAT for HUMANITY - Volunteer Role: ReStore Assistant -
Construction/Repair Handyman
We look forward to welcoming you as a volunteer ReStore Assistant as part of an exciting team in our ReStore. This position is for you if you are looking for an opportunity to perform minor repairs, test equipment and electronics, and other needed handyman specialities in our hardware and construction department. Your help means you directly support our ministry to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter for hard-working families.
Location: As our ReStore Assistant, you'll be a big part of our ReStore team - we're waiting for you at 13369 W. Colonial Drive in Winter Garden.
Key Responsibilities:
·The ReStore Assistant provides a variety of simple to complex duties according to ability. As donations arrive, your talent is needed to make minor repairs to furniture, test out electronics and equipment, receive donations from donors, assist the staff with placement of donated items on the sales floor and other things that meet your experience!
·Report to the ReStore Manager for West Orange Habitat for Humanity.
Length of Appointment and Time Commitment: The ReStore Assistant serves two days per week (4 hours per day) from either 10-2 PM or 1-5 PM for a minimum of 3 months. After three months, the Assistant may be reappointed for another three months at the discretion of the supervisor.
Qualifications: We’re looking for you if you bring a basic knowledge of minor home repairs along with a pleasant manner, patience, problem-solving ability, and dependability!
Support: We’ll provide training for this new position - the store Manager is available for questions/assistance.
Age Requirement: Must be 17 or older
Dress Code: Casual
