ORGANIZATION: Kitchens for Good

ROLE: The Volunteer Bookkeeper assists our Controller in preparing and examining Kitchens for Good’s financial records. This volunteer position is unpaid, however, Kitchens for Good will coordinate with academic programs to ensure internship credit is granted.

PURPOSE: Our Volunteer Bookkeeper helps ensure Kitchens for Good’s organizational sustainability by contributing their expertise. As a financial mastermind, this Volunteer’s help is invaluable to our operations.


ACTIVITIES:

  • Perform data entry in QuickBooks

  • Help develop more efficient accounting procedures

  • Sending and recording invoices

  • Request disbursements

TIMES & DATES: Staff Lead, Volunteer Coordinator, and Volunteer Bookkeeper will meet to determine weekly schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Passionate about finance and Kitchen for Good’s mission

  • Certified Public Accountants are welcome! Student in undergraduate or post-graduate accounting program or individuals with relevant experience

  • Ability to use QuickBooks

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

SUPPORT: The Volunteer Bookkeeper will participate in biweekly "check-in" sessions facilitated by the Volunteer Coordinator. The Controller will provide ongoing trainings throughout the service term.
