P lease support Oakland High students develop their interview skills by volunteering as an interviewer on Friday April 5 (8:45-9:45 & 10:00-11:30) at Oakland High School. If you are would like to volunteer or know someone that would be interested in volunteering, please visit tinyurl.com/ohsinterview or email Tatiana.Newman-Wade@ousd.org. There are multiple inter view dates are 4/5, 4/9, 4/11, 4/16 ( Volunteers are especially needed for April 5 & 9, 8:45-9:45 and April 16, 1:45-3:00pm). MockInterview Details
- The interview questions and a feedback sheet will be provided
- Volunteers will conduct 1-on-1 interviews with 11th grade students
- Each interview will be 10-15 minute long including feedback
- During the course of 1 class period interviewers will interview 3-5 students total (depending on the number of interviewers present)
- Interviewers may volunteer for more than 1 class period

Description
Oakland High School (also known as O-High and OHS) is a public high school in California. Established in 1869, it is the oldest high school in Oakland and the sixth oldest high school in the state.
Oakland High School has over 1,800 students, 39% are Asian, including students of Chinese, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Filipino, Mien, and Laotian descent. Another 38% of students are African American, 21% of students are Latino or Hispanic, 1% are white and 1% are of two or more ethnicities.
Oakland High School boasts more than 40 student-run clubs and 24 sports. From the Hip Hop Club to the Math Club and soccer to badminton, OHS has something for everyone. Oakland High is proud to offer six intra-school academies: the Environmental Sciences Academy, Visual Arts Magnet Program, the Public Health Academy, AVID, Social Justice, and Project Lead the Way (engineering). There is also a thriving World Language department open to all students regardless of their Academy or Pathway interests, which includes Cantonese, French and Spanish.
