Seeds are sprouting, the sun is finally starting to burn through the grey.. Things are picking up here on the kids’ farm and we need your help! Do you enjoy working with children and organic gardening?
Oxbow Education is seeking Spring Kids’ Farm Volunteer Naturalists to lead groups of students (typically Pre-k - 3 rd) on field trips exploring the early growing season, planting seeds, observing wildlife and snacking on fresh farm foods. Programming starts on April 17 th, training is provided, and we can be flexible working within your schedule. Get your hands dirty through working on the Kids’ Farm as well if you are interested. Besides the adorable kid smiles and fresh Snoqualmie Valley air, gleaning our fresh Organic produce is one major perk for all our volunteers!
We help young people make important connections and it is SO rewarding. One student last season proclaimed, "I didn’t know you could eat plants".
Seasonal commitment is April - early June, but we have programming year-round and are seeking long-term volunteers if it is a fit for you (including for involvement in our EPA grant project)! See the attached position description and application for more information. If this volunteer role isn’t what you’re looking for, please check out our additional opportunities on our website: http://www.oxbow.org/volunteer/
