2014's Volunteer of the Year Planting native Bitterbrush seedlings.

Summer has arrived! Come join us as we work on removing invasive weeds from the Mt. Rose Wilderness. Using shovels, we can effectively reduce the population of Musk Thistle. Invasive weeds have many impacts on the native environment. From out-competing for resources to reducing water quality. The work is extremely rewarding and you get to experience some truly amazing country, all in our backyard Wilderness.

We start each Weed Pull at Hunter Creek Trailhead with a 2-3 mile hike and spend the cool hours of the day digging up Musk Thistle Rosettes. If you haven't experience Mt. Rose Wilderness, this is the perfect introduction. Join us for a great outing into our Public Lands and RSVP today!
