Be a Hospice Volunteer! One sure way to make a difference in one’s community and make a positive influence in the lives of others is to become a volunteer. Working with hospice at MidMichigan Home Care to offer support for patients and their families provides a rewarding experience for volunteers who wish to touch the lives of others in a caring way.
MidMichigan Home Care's Hospice is looking for volunteers to visit patients, provide companionship to the patient by engaging in conversation, reading or playing games. Use your special skills to enrich the lives of others!
Volunteer may provide respite for the caregiver/family to run errands or take time for themselves.
Volunteer can visit patients in their homes or in facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living centers. Volunteer may provide limited physical care of the patient with specialized training.
Woodland Hospice House offers reception desk, answering phones, visiting patients, and helping the staff with patients, laundry, and dishes.
Other opportunities include administrative support, bereavement follow up and special projects such as fund raising, Health fairs and memorial services

The Mission of Woodland Hospice is to provide high quality, dignified, and compassionate end of life care to people with a terminal illness: to promotethe long-term emotional, spiritual, and physical well beings of caregivers and survivors: to provide expertise in palliative, supportive, and bereavement care to professionals as well as the community at large.
Description
Caring for people with an incurable illness in the warmth and comfort of their own home is the heart of our care and philosophy. Services are available to the patient, caregiver, and family. Woodland Hospice also contracts with several local nursing homes and Adult Foster Care Homes and can provide complete hospice services in any setting.
Caregivers may need a break at times to attend to other areas in their lives. Woodland Hospice offers highly trained volunteers for short term respite care as well as a variety of other supportive services. In the case of longer term respite needs, a five day respite stay at Hospice House is available.
