About

SeaGate Food Bank is a grassroots organization started in the 1970s in a garage. Today it serves over 130,000 each month through 438 food pantries in 8 NW Ohio counties. It operates out of an 85,000 square food distribution center on High Street in Toledo's Old South End

The High Street Hunger Fighters are a group of "Community Ambassadors" that are willing to tell the extent of the "hunger story" to a wide range of community groups and potential business/organization sponsors. As a member of the HSHF, you will attend short quarterly meetings, identify prospects, write some letters, and make some phone calls to support specific SFB programs.

We are looking for people willing to get involved, learn more about the problem and help us engage others in building support for the thirteen programs that SeaGate Food Bank operates. Expect to spend about 10-15 hours per month.

This group started in the second quarter of 2017, so you could be a part of the intial team that helps raise awareness of the problem and find support for our programs.
