The High Street Hunger Fighters is a group of "Community Ambassadors" willing to tell the "hunger story" to a wide range of potential business & organization donor/sponsors. As a member of the HSHF, you will help us identify prospects, plan some events and make some phone calls in support of specific events.
SeaGate Food Bank is a non-profit 501c3 corporation that started in the late 1970s in a garage. Today it distributes food to 438 food pantries serving over 130,00 people each month. Other programs include Senior Food Boxes, a Veterans' Marketplace, High Rise Garden, Eat Right Academy, Projects PJ, Milk Money for Kids and more. Located on High Street in Toledo's Old South End, just off Broadway.
We are looking for dedicated people willing to get involved, learn more about hunger and help us engage others in building support for the programs that SeaGate Food Bank operates. Expect to spend about 8-10 hours per month. Our goal is to create a task force to that will be a fun experience, with the opportunity to meet some new friends and "work" for a worthy cause!

Mission Statement
Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Ohio by relentlessly working to eliminate hunger and improve nutrition. Each month, we collect and distribute fresh produce and packaged food to 428 food pantries, soup kitchens, and programs that feed the hungry in our region. Unlike other programs, SeaGate Food Bank never charges for its services. And since food is not the only need, we continually develop and implement programs to educate, train, support and encourage the underserved in our community.
Description
SeaGate Food Bank is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation and a true grassroots organization. It started in a garage in the mid-1970s and today serves 438 food pantries in eight NW Ohio counties, providing food at no cost to over 130,000 each month. Amazingly, it does this with a full time staff of only 10, but many hundreds of volunteers. It is a truly wonderful group of people.
