Down Syndrome Awareness Picnic
Rotary’s Camp FL 1915 Camp FL Rd. Brandon FL
Saturday July 15th, 11:00am-3:00pm.
Lunch is provided with FREE hot dogs & hamburgers served with chips, fruit, soda, & water. Enjoy cotton candy and a snow cone! Enter our FDSWF Pie Contest, bring your best pie to the picnic and enter to win a great gift! The pool will be open so bring your sunscreen. Enjoy the view and take a relaxing canoe ride on the beautiful lake Gornto. Let the kids loose on the awesome playground and this year come enjoy the giant hamster ball, shoot some hoops, and test your skills on the obstacle course and 15ft slide. The MUCH Foundation will be providing the AMAZING Superhero's and Princess's. The fun guys from Ghostbusters will be showing off the great car and the Star Wars Storm troopers from the 501st Legion will show you the ways of the force. Julie Hirsch Photography will be catching the fun with her awesome photos!
Volunteers will be asked to help set up, serve food, monitor inflatables, interact with the children at the games table, basketball hoops, and playground. Or you will be assigned to a family to help watch the children. Volunteers will asked to sign in families, sell raffle tickets and t-shirts. Thanks so much for volunteering! F.R.I.E.N.D.S. MISSION • To provide vital special needs information, education, and resources, to expectant and new families. • Offer essential support, understanding, and advice to those with Down syndrome and/or other disabilities. • To provide fun activities in a safe and accepting atmosphere where our families and individuals can connect with each other.
Description
A volunteer-based, non-profit 501C3, founded in 2007 by families impacted by Down Syndrome and other special needs. We are committed to offering support, resources, and acceptance to all individuals with special needs and their families. We provide year-round programs, public education, community activities, and volunteer opportunities for those who want to help our special needs community.
