We are currently seeking people who are looking for Board of Director experience to join our board's Concern & Awareness Committee.

This committee works directly in 23 counties served by the Michigan Great Lakes Chapter to strengthen the momentum of the Alzheimer’s disease movement by increasing concern about Alzheimer’s disease and increasing awareness of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Examples of activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as lead volunteer spokesperson for media opportunities.
  • Engage media outlets for stories and create referral opportunities for the chapter.
  • Serve as volunteer leaders in public arenas, engaging groups for presentations related to the mission.
  • Connect the chapter with media outlets to increase news coverage.
  • Identify and secure relationships with corporations that have a heavy media presence and connect those entities with the chapter.

Committee members will be expected to meet once per month, alternating between in-person and virtual meetings, and will also devote a minimum of 1-2 hours per month between meetings assisting in various awareness activities as needed.
