Basic Information
As a tower docent, you will interact with our guests from around the world at the top of our historic lighthouse tower. This entails:
- Answering guest questions about the lighthouse & its history as well as general information about the surrounding area (don't worry - if you're not a history buff, we will provide you an informational packet with everything you need to know!)
- Monitoring the flow of guest traffic at the top of the tower & ensuring guest compliance with basic safety rules
Time Requirement
Our tower volunteers work in 4-hour shifts. We are open 7 days a week, so can work with any schedule!
- Morning shift from 9:00am - 1:00pm
- Evening shift from 1:00pm - 5:00pm

Mission Statement
Preserving the Past to Enlighten the Future
Description
Still an active aid to navigation, the Pensacola Lighthouse has kept watch over Pensacola Bay since New Year's Day of 1859. Today, it also serves as a historic site and museum for visitors for all over the world.
As we are open to the public 7 days a week, we are always on the lookout for dedicated volunteers to help us keep the light shining! Our volunteers work as museum docents, tour guides, groundskeepers, and much more - all while taking in the best view on the Gulf Coast.
