Volunteer Program Coordinator Assistant
We are seeking a volunteer assistant to the Volunteer Program Coordinator at St. Mary’s Dining Room. A minimum commitment of at least 2 hours per week is required.
Screening: A screening process is required to determine if there is a potential volunteer opportunity. If you are interested in this volunteer opportunity please contact Georgie Nguyen, the volunteer coordinator at (209) 467-0703 to set up an appointment to meet for a brief screening.
Volunteer opportunity: Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 3:00pm
Tasks may include:
- Calculate volunteer hours
- Input volunteer applications into a database
- Alphabetize, file volunteer applications and forms
- Prepare volunteer packets, volunteer bundles
- Additional clerical duties as needed
Requirements:
At least 18 years of age
Able to commit at least 2 hours per week to volunteering
Volunteer must adheres to SMDR confidentiality policy
Professional appearance and performance
Proficient in typing and data entry
Ability to perform basic math
Ability to accurately alphabetize
Ability to work independtly

Mission Statement
St. Mary's Dining Room responds to poverty in San Joaquin County be feeding the hungry, caring for health issues and restoring human dignity to over 700 individuals each day.
Description
St. Mary’s Dining Room provides the following free caring services to the community. Our ability to provide this care is made possible through the generosity of our community. It is because of their financial support, volunteerism and their donation of in-kind supplies that we can provide hope to all that visit our campus each day. We are grateful to be voted 2020 Best of San Joaquin Non-Profit. (We are located a block from the Stockton DMV)
Our DINING ROOM is open 7 days a week. Each morning we serve a hot breakfast, followed by a hot lunch and dinner.
Our CLOTHING & HYGIENE CENTER is open 6 days a week. We provide access to hot showers, hygiene products, haircuts and seasonal clothing to our guests.
Our MEDICAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured through the help of volunteer professionals. Eye exams are also performed and prescription glasses are provided.
Our DENTAL CLINIC treats those who are uninsured. Dentists provide needed dental care and education to our guests. Dentures are also provided.
Our SOCIAL SERVICES center allows staff and volunteers to provide case management for guests by assisting with completing applications for various benefit programs. Guests are provided with advocacy and referrals for securing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and employment.
Our SENIOR CENTER allows us to support our senior guests (55+) to come to relax, read the newspaper, make friends, participate in activities with our volunteers and other seniors.
