Project Food Forest will be planting and mulching trees for phase 1 at our first public food forest on this date. We are in need of 5-7 volunteers who would like to dig holes for the trees, dig depressions for the trees, insert and backfill trees, mulch the trees, and erect deer protection (installing u-post, cutting wire mesh fencing, fitting around tree, attaching to post). This event will be held at First Evangelical Free Church located at 2601 W 69th St, Sioux Falls, SD 57108 on Saturday April 15th from 10 a.m. - noon.
We also need one vounteer who would like to shoot some pictures and video of the event. If you have shovels, gloves, pliers, wire cutters, a post driver and blade or knife please bring that as well. This is our first food forest so it will be a work in progress, your help and cooperation is greatly apprecaited. If you have any questions please call Chris at (605) 906-2130. Thank you from the team at Project Food Forest (www.projectfoodforest.org).

To empower people to feed themselves through agroforestry, edible landscape design, and education.

Our goal is to encourage, empower, and equip people to plant and care for edible plants all over. We intend to do this by planting public food forests; implementing programs that add edible trees and shrubs to existing public landscaping; designing low-maintenance edible landscapes for private clients in South Dakota, Minnesota and beyond; and educating the public about planting, harvesting, preserving, and eating low-maintenance edible landscapes through classes, workshops, and online resources.
