EVENT DESCRIPTION: The 2nd Annual Blue Star Blitz is a day full of fun at the Anne Springs Close Greenway! Join us on Saturday, March 24th and take part in competitive events including trail races, short track mountain bike racing, a geocaching BINGO event, live music and Blitz Biergarten where you can taste more than 40 beers from over a dozen regional craft breweries.
VOLUNTEER NEEDS/DESCRIPTION: There are several different positions for volunteers. Volunteers will assist in helping the event run smoothly.

7:30-9:30a: Check In (4)
9a-12p & 12-3p: Fueling Station (food) (2)
9a-11:30a & 11:30a-2:15p: Race Course Monitors (10)
9a-11:30a & 11:30a-2:15p: Hydration Stations (4)
10a-12p: Blitz Biergarten Setup (cups, etc.) (2)

TIME COMMITMENT: Shorter and longer shifts available, see schedule for times
QUALIFICATIONS: Comfortable working outdoors and with the public. Must be 21+ to work at the Biergarten

Description
Leroy Springs & Company has been providing recreational and educational opportunities to the communities surrounding Springs Industries facilities for over 60 years. In 1995, the Anne Springs Close Greenway, a 2,100 acre nature preserve in Fort Mill, South Carolina, was dedicated to the public to serve as a natural buffer from urban development and a place for countless activities - from hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, to picnics, kayaking and more.
The land was donated by the children of Anne Springs Close to honor her lifelong commitment to recreation and the environment. The Greenway is a not-for-profit entity which receives no ongoing tax dollars to build, maintain or operate its programs, trails and facilities. Owned and managed by Leroy Springs & Company, the Greenway is funded in part by memberships, program fees and generous donations from individuals and corporations.
