Overview: Teach immigrants in the preparation of becoming naturalized US citizens
Details:
- Teach a 1.5 hour weekly class for on-going, ten week sessions
- Teach US history, US government and political system, civics skills and the interview and application process for applying for citizenship
- Prepare materials, be prepared every week
- Be an active participant of the Citizenship team to include responding to communications, attending team meetings and trainings/in-services
Qualifications:
- Excellent oral communication skills and command of the English language
- Willing to work with diverse student classrooms of mixed abilities, learner levels, backgrounds and cultures
- High degree of initiative and creativity
- Ability to organize projects and work
- Excellent person-to-person skills

Pima College Adult Basic Education for College and Career (ABECC) Mission: We meet every adult learner where they are, honor their strengths and support them to their goals.
We offer free, non-credit high school equivalency classes, English language classes, career contextualized instruction, and citizenship preparation classes.
Volunteers are essential to fulfilling our mission and we welcome inquiries from community members who want to help the thousands of adult students we serve each year.
