UI/UX Designer
WGLI is seeking an experienced and talented UI/UX Designer. This position requires experience designing web-based solutions that are attractive, interactive, and easily navigated. The UI/UX Designer will implement solutions that focus on the overall user experience, seamless site navigation and the creation of an internal member intranet. The selected candidate will report to our Director of IT to understand the existing business processes and deliver creative solutions in a timely manner. Other activities will likely include the development of documentation such as user guides, presentations, templates, screen mockups, workflow designs and more for members and team. This position will also be responsible to ensure the work produced is effective, accessible, and visually pleasing while working with a team of other software product designers and developers throughout the entire life cycle of IT projects.
Education, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Designer role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to create and present a design/mockup as a graphical representation of a system, process, or website
Ability to ensure that the "look and feel" of sites, presentations, and materials support the organization’s identity and business needs, as well as facilitated user interaction with the system and maximizes content sharing and user adoption
Work closely with customers, project managers and developers to create images, presentations, workflows, page designs, form designs, reports, dashboards, information graphics, and website imagery
Follow established style guides and templates
Develop, modify, and maintain documentation
Strong knowledge of graphic and visual design for digital and print media
Clean design aesthetic for differently abled audiences, ability to bring messages to life and clearly communicate ideas in various mediums
Ability to multi-task, work on several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and maintain an organized workflow
Ability to collaborate productively in large interdisciplinary teams
Knowledge of the following technologies required:
MS Office
Graphic Design Tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, LiveCycle)
Basic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web development knowledge
Relevant Industry Experience:
Web Design & Development
Migration & Content Mapping
Project Planning & Documentation
Corporate Branding & Identity
Desktop Publishing
Customer Support
SCRUM/AGILE
Relevant Personal Experience:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to present ideas
Ability to provide quick turnarounds
Ability to interface with customers/clients
Good time management skills
Ability to prioritize and redirect
Attentive to details
Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
Ability to redesign existing site for a modern and usable design including responsive design, CAML, JQuery, CSS3, grid layouts, and custom interactive user elements
Knowledge of the following technologies preferred:
Bootstrap, Angular JS, React JS
HTML4/HTML5
CSS2/CSS3
JavaScript, jQuery, jQuery UI
