A Web Design Intern will be responsible for improving CAIR-WA's Joomla-based website, maintaining content, and coordinating with the Web Development Interns. You will play a valuable role by participating in our project that will attract future and recurring donors to our website, helping them implement their own matching processes, explaining what "zakat" is in Islam, explainig the impact that they create by donating, and thanking them for their compassion and gift for our community.
This is an unpaid position is ideal for a college or post-grad student or professional seeking to utilize their skills in an expanding non-profit and solving complex problems that'll benefit the community.
Basic requirements include:
- A portfolio of past work illustrating previous experience, skills, interests, and perspective
- Impressive programming skills
- 1+ year(s) experience with Javascript, HTML, CSS, and jQuery
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

C AIR-Washington the local Washington state chapter of CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) serving the neighboring Northwest. CAIR is the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group. CAIR-Washington is a not-for-profit organization registered in Washington. Though it leverages the resources, expertise, and knowledge base of CAIR (based in Washington D.C.), it functions as an independent organization that sets its own strategy and goals.
