Join us for the 12 th Annual Black Rock Rendezvous. Set aside Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29th for another great time in the desert! This weekend of volunteering will include environmental stewardship projects and a Dutch Oven cook-off between all the volunteers!
Volunteers will have the opportunity to install Wilderness Boundary Signs as well as restore habitat within Calico Mountains Wilderness.We plan to camp below Cassidy Mine on the playa, but this is subject to change due to weather. Partners this year again include Nevada Outdoor School, Friends of Black Rock-High Rock, and the BLM. We look forward to another great Dutch Oven Competition, so dust off your ovens and start testing your secret recipes.

Description
Are you interested in volunteering outside, exploring remote wild lands, taking care of your local public lands, making friends? Join Friends of Nevada Wilderness on a volunteer stewardship trip! Together we can keep our public lands and wilderness areas safe and clean. We would love to see you at our next stewardship project.
Friends of Nevada Wilderness organizes volunteer restoration trips to help wild landscapes recover from noxious weeds, illegal vehicle use, and other impacts (because official designations do not guarantee on-the-ground protection). Our volunteers also "adopt" areas to monitor their condition and advocate for their protection. Volunteers get to work with others to heal our wild places. These trips are fun, rewarding, and can be a great way to meet new Friends. All volunteers are welcome! We have volunteer opportunities for every skill level, ranging from getting out on the ground and pulling fence, picking up trash, naturalizing old roads, planting seedlings, monitoring wilderness, and yanking invasive plants to helping with outreach events and office tasks.
By helping citizens actively restore wild lands, we help build in them a greater sense of responsibility and stewardship.
