Shell Houston Open Wednesday, March 29 - Sunday, April 2
HEART is looking for enthusiastic and compassionate volunteers to help with operating our four concession booths at Shell Houston Open (e.g. cashiering, icing down beverages, prepping/cooking food, inventorying, etc.) alongside with HEART trainees who are adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.

DRESS CODE: Khaki long or knee-length pants (no jeans); hats or baseball caps (no visors); and closed-toe shoes.
Group volunteers and volunteers of both over & under 18-years old are welcome. Free parking and entrance on the event day will be provided, and volunteers are free to come before or stay after the shift to check out the PGA Tour golf!

Our mission is to promote structured independence for individuals with developmental disabilities by providing innovative education, training, housing and employment programs.
Description
HEART is a Houston-based program of the 501(c)(3) charitable organization Educational Programs Inspiring Communities, Inc. which was founded in 2002. HEART received its initial funding in 2005 and opened its doors February 1, 2006 to a training program for vending machines and concessions. The organization has a dba for HEART Vending and Concessions and operates 70 vending machines in the Houston area as well as over 150 concession events annually. Trainees from the HEART Program work at all of these enterprises and earn paychecks at minimum wage or higher for their hard work!
