Taking on this expanding position, the Education Program Development Specialist will have a direct and vital hand in growing the support structure behind TWRC’s conservation education programs. The intern will cover the Greater Houston area, with the majority of time at the Center on Hammerly .

TWRC Summer Wildlife Camps and Community Outreach activities fulfill an important part of our mission, promoting environmental conservation through education. We emphasize awareness of the relationship between the community and nature which affects wildlife every day.We are currently in the process of reevaluating our camp programs to ensure maximum impact.In the past, our camps have given youth, ages 7-11, the opportunity to explore native wildlife and local ecosystems through hands-on, eye to eye learning experiences with wildlife.

This position will be responsible for assessing past camp programs and camp participant demographics, developing a pilot program that meets the needs of the participants, conducting a pilot camp session in 2017 and developing a schedule and marketing plan for 2018 camps.The Education Program Development Specialist position will also participate in Community Outreach activities. Outreach activities are very active during the summer, where we attend, festivals, fairs and school activities to educate both children and adults.
